Italian luxury footwear brand Sergio Rossi will restart the men’s shoe product line and hold an exhibition at Pitti Uomo in Florence Men’s Wear Week in January next year.
After being acquired by the Investindustrial Fund at the end of 2015, the new CEO Riccardo Sciutto focused on the development of women’s shoes, and Sergio Rossi’s men’s shoe product line was cancelled.
Regarding the restart of the men’s shoes series, Riccardo Sciutto said: “We have completed the reorganization of the company and consolidated the women’s shoes product line. Now we are ready to display our men’s shoes products at the Pitti Uomo men’s show. But this new series The scale will not be very large, it will be based on our iconic three to four women’s shoes, to reinterpret its masculine style. ”
Riccardo Sciutto revealed that one of the basic women’s shoes includes sr1 slippers, which is one of the best-selling styles after the brand reorganization.
Sergio Rossi will set up a large booth at the Pitti Uomo menswear exhibition in Florence from January 7th to 10th, which is the first time the brand has participated in this exhibition. In response to this new project, Sergio Rossi formed a dedicated creative team consisting of a female shoe designer and another newly hired male shoe designer within the brand.
In March of this year, Sergio Rossi opened the first men’s shoe store on the fifth floor of the Hankyu Men’s Department Store in Tokyo, Japan. Sciutto pointed out: “This is our first attempt, the market response is very good, and the operation of the store is also very good.”
The brand opened flagship stores in Tokyo, London, New York and Chengdu this year. In 2018, sales exceeded 58 million euros, and in 2019 it will exceed 70 million euros, of which more than 50% come from the Asian market, especially Japan and China. These two countries will also be the key markets for Sergio Rossi to further expand its business and open new stores next year. In addition, they will also open stores in Singapore.
